Team India slipped in the Melbourne Test match and Australia won by a huge margin of 184 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the series. There were many reasons for the defeat of the Indian team, about which everyone is discussing. One such discussion suddenly turned into a debate, when Yashasvi Jaiswal's mistake was being discussed but then famous commentator Sanjay Manjrekar mentioned Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. This debate took place during the show of the match broadcaster Star Sports, which surprised everyone.

Monday 30th December was the last day of the match and Team India had a target of 340 runs to win. The top order of the Indian team disappointed again. Captain Rohit Sharma (9), KL Rahul (0) and Virat Kohli (5) were out after scoring runs. After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant raised hopes by making a good partnership but in the third session, Team India lost 7 wickets and the match slipped out of hand.

Question raised on Jaiswal's fielding

After the match was over, well-known British commentator Mark Nicholls, former Australian batsman Justin Langer and Manjrekar were present for discussion on the Star Sports show. During this discussion, the show's anchor Mayanti Langer asked Mark Nicholas a question about Jaiswal's fielding. Jaiswal had taken 3 easy catches on the fourth day, due to which Australia got the benefit. Nicholas replied directly that there was a loss for dropping the catch. He said that Jaiswal should have taken those catches because these were straight catches and it had an impact on the team.

Manjrekar clashed with Nicholas

Then suddenly Manjrekar jumped in and said that it was wrong to blame Jaiswal because he scored runs in both the innings. Manjrekar then mentioned team captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and said that both the senior batsmen did nothing in the entire match. He objected to Mark Nicholls' statement calling Jaiswal a good catcher.

In such a situation, a small argument took place during the show. Manjrekar accused Nicholas of blaming Jaiswal for the defeat. In such a situation, Nicholas also said that he did not blame Jaiswal. The veteran commentator said that he was only asked a question about Jaiswal's catching and whether it had an impact on the match and he replied only on this because matches are won only by his catching.
