South Africa has made it to the final of the World Test Championship. The team captained by Temba Bavuma defeated Pakistan by a close margin of just 2 wickets in a thrilling match and got the ticket for the title match for the first time. On the fourth day of this match played in Centurion, South Africa converted the defeat into victory on the basis of Kagiso Rabada and Marco Yanson's unbeaten 51-run partnership for the 9th wicket. Whereas in the second innings, even 6 wickets of Mohammad Abbas could not help Pakistan win.

On the third day of the match, after bowling out Pakistan for 237 runs in the second innings, South Africa had a target of 148 runs but Abbas and Khurram Shahzad lost 3 wickets for just 19 runs. From here Aiden Markram and captain Temba Bavuma took over the innings. On the fourth day, both the batsmen took the innings forward with a score of 27 runs. The African team was looking in a better position but then Mohammad Abbas took the wicket of Markram.

Even after this, there was captain Temba Bavuma at the crease, who was looking in good form and had taken the team to 96 runs. South Africa needed only 52 runs with 6 wickets left but it was here that Bavuma made a mistake due to which the innings faltered. He went to play an unnecessarily big shot on Abbas's ball and was caught by the wicketkeeper. After this he made another mistake by not taking review. Replays showed that the ball had hit his thigh pad instead of his bat. From here Abbas wreaked havoc and South Africa lost 3 more wickets in the next 11 balls. Abbas took 6 wickets in the Test for the first time by dismissing David Bedingham and Corbin Bosch in consecutive balls.

South Africa had lost 8 wickets for just 99 runs and defeat seemed certain but from here Marco Johnson-Kagiso Rabada regained their footing. After this, both of them bravely faced the Pakistani bowlers including Abbas and took the team closer to victory. Once victory seemed close, Rabada rained fours. South Africa came very close to victory by scoring 11 runs in Aamer Jamal's over, after which Yanas gave the team a sensational victory by hitting a four off Abbas. Rabada returned unbeaten after scoring 31 runs in just 26 balls and Yanson returned unbeaten after scoring 16 runs.
