Rahmat Shah has etched his name into cricket history by achieving Afghanistan's highest individual Test score.
During the first Test match against Zimbabwe, Rahmat remains unbeaten on 231 runs, surpassing the previous record for Afghanistan.
Rahmat's innings was a testament to his resilience, as he batted through difficult phases and anchored the innings. His knock included a wide array of strokes, underlining his ability to adapt to different situations. Additionally, Rahmat's partnership with Hashmatullah Shahidi, who contributed 141 runs, became Afghanistan's highest partnership in Test cricket.
Rahmat Shah is only the 2nd Afghan player to score a double hundred in Test cricket, as Hashmatullah Shahidi is the other one. Rahmat can also add to his tally on Day 4 of the match. Zimbabwe racked up a mammoth 586 runs in their first innings, but the Afghan are currently on course to beat it as they stand at 425 for 2.

Rahmat Shah, the 31-year-old from Paktia, is now the highest scorer for Afghanistan in Tests and has joined an elite list of players who spearhead the highest individual score for their respective countries.
West Indies legend Brian Lara boasts with the highest individual Test score in the world when he scored an unbeaten 400 against England. For India, the crown belongs to Virender Sehwag, who scored 319 against Sri Lanka.
