In such a situation, former England captain Michael Vaughan has claimed that Rohit Sharma can join the CSK team in the IPL next year. Let us tell you that before this season, veteran wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni was removed from the captaincy of CSK team and in his place, explosive opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was made the captain and in such a situation, Rohit can be the captain of CSK team next year.

Michael Vaughan, 49, said on a podcast, “Will he (Rohit Sharma) go to Chennai? Will you replace Dhoni? Gaikwad is captaining this year and it is possible that Rohit will be on this post next year. I see him in Chennai.”

Apart from this, the former right-handed batsman supported Hardik and said, “Hardik is going through a difficult phase and it is not his fault. He has been asked to captain Mumbai Indians, who will refuse? He has been given the job which every Indian cricketer wants to do. The last few years have been difficult for Mumbai Indians. I just feel that the method was not right.”

Vaughan further said, “I personally would have made Rohit the captain. Hardik coming back to MI is a lot of pressure in itself, and Rohit is obviously the Indian T20 captain. “The wise move would have been to promote Rohit as MI captain for the next year or two, keeping Hardik in mind.”
