Virat Kohli was once again in the news on the second day of the Melbourne Test. He scored 36 runs but he became a subject of controversy due to the run out of Yashasvi Jaiswal. When Yashasvi Jaiswal was playing on 82 runs, due to a misunderstanding this batsman was run out. Cricket experts claim that Virat Kohli had no fault in this but some veterans believe that Virat could have completed the runs if he had adopted the basic formula of scoring runs. Now former captain Sunil Gavaskar has broken his silence on this issue. Gavaskar said that there is no need to take such risky runs.
Sunil Gavaskar said after the end of the second day's play that Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal should not have tried to take a risky run, due to which Australia got a very important wicket in the fourth Test. Gavaskar told Star Sports that it would have been a fast run and a player like Virat would definitely have made it. Gavaskar further said that Virat was looking behind the fielder and in such a situation he lost that important second of taking a fast run and in such a situation the player's balance also gets disturbed.
I have watched this clip multiple times, both are my favourites. Jaiswal's call but Kohli is very good at taking quick singles. Kohli should have taken that run, Jaiswal was running at the danger end. A good 100 partnership but this runout ruined everything. pic.twitter.com/UseP8a8Qgq

Sunil Gavaskar further said that what is the need to take such runs in which you see risk. Especially in that phase of the match, there was no need for such runs when runs were being scored easily. Gavaskar further said that Kohli runs tremendously between the wickets. Well, Gavaskar also admitted that due to Jaiswal's dismissal, Kohli got distracted and he got out.
