Before him, Bert Vogler (1906), Dan Peat (2014), Hardus Vilhoun (2016) and Tshepo Moreki (2024) had done this feat on Test debut. But what Bosch did is historical in itself, which is different from the other four bowlers. Bosch is the first bowler in the 135-year history of South Africa, which has been playing Test cricket since 1889, to take a wicket on the very first ball while making his debut in the Boxing Day Test match.
