Delhi: The first match of the two-match Test series between South Africa and Pakistan will be played at the Super Sports Park in Centurion from Thursday, i.e. 26th December. There is a strong possibility that former Test captain Babar Azam will be included in Pakistan's playing eleven for this Test.
If Babar Azam plays, Test captain Shan Masood will open the innings with Saim Ayub and Babar will bat at number 3.
Speaking in Geo News' program 'Score', former wicketkeeper batsman Rashid Latif said that Babar Azam is an excellent batsman, but his record at number '3' does not look very impressive. Latif said that Babar scored the maximum 2486 runs while playing at number 4 in Test cricket, where he scored 7 centuries and 14 half-centuries in 52 innings.
He further said that the former Test captain has batted at the number “3” position 19 times in the longest format, where he has scored 510 runs at an average of 30.00.
