Combining studies with sports is a very difficult task for any cricketer. But there is one player in Team India who loves studies very much. Therefore, he always continued it with sports and today he is one of the most educated cricketers of Team India. He has many degrees. Here we are talking about the third most expensive player of IPL 2025, Venkatesh Iyer. Venkatesh is a multitalented person, who has many skills and degrees. On this basis he has also earned crores of rupees.
Today i.e. on 25th December, there is celebration of Christmas all over the country. Venkatesh Iyer is celebrating his 30th birthday. Let us tell you that Venkatesh comes from a middle class family. He gives a lot of importance to studies. Therefore, he continued his studies along with playing cricket and is still pursuing a degree. He has said in his interview that only education stays with you till death. Apart from this, no cricketer can play till the age of 60 but an educated person can definitely live a good life after retirement.
This is the reason why he studied like Bachelors of Commerce, MBA, CA. Now he is doing PhD in Finance. However, Venkatesh left his CA degree midway. That means he has a lot of knowledge in the field related to business and money. No Indian cricketer has done so much study till now. There are some players like R Ashwin and Murali Vijay, who have engineering degrees but could not even study for PhD. In this matter, only former cricketer Avishkar Salvi gives competition to Venkatesh Iyer. He did PhD in Astro Physics.
Perhaps because of his education he has been able to earn crores of rupees. Kolkata Knight Riders had bid Rs 23.75 crore for him in the IPL mega auction. Before this he had earned around Rs 25 crore from IPL. They also earn money from domestic matches. Apart from this, he also earns money through brand endorsement ads.
According to media reports, by combining all these, he has become the owner of property worth around Rs 50 crores. Let us tell you that after completing the MBA degree, Venkatesh Iyer got a job offer from the multinational company Deloitte. But he rejected this job for cricket. This company is counted among the top-4 accounting firms of the world. The estimated value of Deloitte in 2024 is $200 billion i.e. about Rs 17 lakh crore.
As we have already told, Venkatesh Iyer is a multi-talented person. Apart from obtaining such a degree in studies, he also plays the role of an all-rounder in sports. Apart from batting with his left hand, he also bowls spin with his right hand. He has played 2 ODIs and 9 T20s for Team India. Talking about first class, till now he has taken 17 wickets with 1536 runs at an average of 40. In List A, he has taken 27 wickets with 1544 runs in 49 matches and in 124 T20 matches, he has taken 2896 runs and 49 wickets at a strike rate of 140.
