England has announced its ODI and T-20 team for the India tour. Star wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler will captain the team in both formats. Meanwhile, an England legend has sent his name for the next season of Pakistan Super League (PSL). England's fast bowler David Willey, who has played in PSL before, will once again be seen playing in PSL. His name has been kept in the draft for the 2025 season. Earlier he has been a part of PSL team Multan Sultans.
PSL has shared information on social media about David Willey being in Pakistan Super League in the next season. PSL shared a video of David Willey on Twitter and wrote, 'English powerhouse David Willey has officially signed up for the HBL PSL 2025 Draft'.
David Willey has previously played two seasons in Pakistan Super League. Both times he has been a part of the Multan Sultans team. He made his debut in PSL for Multan Sultans in the 2021-22 season. Then Willie had taken 13 wickets in 8 innings of 8 matches. After this, in the 2023-24 season, the England bowler took 15 wickets while playing 11 matches. In PSL, he took 28 wickets in 19 matches at an economy of 7.72.
David Willey was released by Lucknow Super Giants before the auction process for IPL 2025. He was a part of LSG in 2024 but due to personal reasons could not be a part of the team in the initial matches. However, he did not get a chance to play for Lucknow even later. David was bought by LSG for a price of Rs 2 crore. Before this, David Willey has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. Willie has played 11 matches in the Indian Premier League, although his performance was not as expected. The English player has been able to take only 6 wickets in IPL. Willie got to play only 11 matches in IPL from 2018 to 2023.
