New Delhi: Opener Ninad Rathva and captain Krunal Pandya went all guns blazing with the bat to help Baroda post a whopping 403 runs on the board in 50 overs in their clash against Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 on Monday, December 23. Rathva slammed a magnificent century while Pandya scored a quickfire half-century to power Baroda past the 400-run mark.

Asked to bat first in the game, Baroda got off to a steady start before losing opener Shashwat Rawat cheaply on just 10 off 22 balls. Ninad then joined hands with no.3 Parth Kohli to take the attack to the Kerala bowlers as the duo shared a brilliant 197-run stand for the second wicket. Ninad slammed 136 runs off 99 balls laced with 19 fours and 3 sixes while Parth struck 72 off 87 deliveries.

The duo set the stage for a huge total for Baroda with their 197-run stand. Skipper Pandya then combined with Vishnu Solanki to add the finishing touches to Baroda’s innings and power his team past the 400-run mark. Krunal slammed an unbeaten 80 off just 54 balls studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes.

He was ably supported by Solanki, who scored 46 off 25 deliveries with the help of 3 sixes and as many fours. The duo shared a 91-run stand for the 4th wicket. After Solanki’s dismissal, Krunal joined hands with Bhanu Pania, who produced a sensational cameo of 15-ball 37 to propel Baroda to 403/4 in 50 overs.

Baroda breached the 400-run mark for the first time in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as they posted their highest total in the tournament’s history. They also notched up the 8th-highest total in the tournament history, becoming only the 8th team to cross the 400-run mark in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
