New Delhi: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan, India's forgotten openers, served a smashing reminder of their batting abilities with blistering centuries in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Both Ishan and Gaikwad, who have been out of India's reckoning for quite some time now, see Vijay Hazare - India's premier 50-over competition as a possible audition for the international comeback.

While Gaikwad smashed a hundred in Maharashtra's run-chase against Services, Kishan scored a magnificent ton against Manipur. Maharashtra skipper Ruturaj led by example and smashed 11 sixes and 16 boundaries en route to his unbeaten 148-run knock in just 74 balls.

Courtesy of his scintillating ton, Maharashtra chased down 205 in just 20.2 overs. Gaikwad was aggressive right from the word go and reached his fifty in just 28 balls and hundred in 57 deliveries.

Earlier, Pradeep Dadhe and Satyajeet Bachhav bagged three wickets each as Maharashtra bowled Services out for 204 in 48 overs at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai.

Ishan lights up Jaipur with blazing ton

Meanwhile, Ishan was in full flow against Manipur at the Dr Soni Stadium, Jaipur as Jharkhand registered a comfortable 8-wicket win. Ishan, who has been out of favour, for the last 12 months, smashed six maximums and 16 boundaries in a swashbuckling innings of 134 off 78 balls.

Thanks to Ishan's smashing ton and superb 68-run knock by Utkarsh Singh, Jharkhand overhauled the 254-run target in the 29th over.

Ishan, who is out of the BCCI central contract, is doing everything in his power to win back the trust of the selectors. He has been a revelation in India's domestic circuit with hundreds in Buchi Babu, Duleep Trophy, Ranji Trophy and now in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
