Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant finally had moments to celebrate after his team defeated Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2024. Having lost four out of five games, the franchise was under the pump, and even the question marks were put on Pant’s captaincy.
Cricket experts felt that DC shouldn’t have burdened Rishabh with the captaincy as he was returning to the cricket after 15 months following his fatal car accident. However, all this didn’t matter in the end, as the young skipper not only led the players from the front but also played a match-winning knock.
The southpaw took to X to pour out his emotions.
“Thanking God in every breath I take Delighted to win this one. We move ahead,” he wrote on X.
After failing to get going against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, he came back to form against Chennai Super Kings. His fifty led the team to the first win of the season. Although he continued to score runs, the team fell behind in the race for the playoffs.
With the six-wicket win over KL Rahul’s Lucknow, Delhi may be among the winners in the remaining games.
