England are the first team to announce squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. The global tournament will be played in a hybrid model, with only playing its matches outside the neighbouring country. Jos Buttler has been retained as a captain by the national selectors.

The decision-makers also named the teams for the the white-ball matches in India. The visitors will compete in three one-day internationals and five T20Is before the ICC tournament in February and March.

Joe Root has been recalled to the ODI side for the first time since the ODI World Cup in 2023.

Ben Stokes was not considered as he is down with hamstring injury.
