Punjab's right-handed batsman Anmolpreet Singh scored the fastest century in List A i.e. 50 over cricket for India on Saturday (21 December). Anmolpreet scored an unbeaten century of 115 runs in 45 balls at a strike rate of 255.56, hitting 12 fours and 9 sixes in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match played against Arunachal Pradesh at Narendra Modi Stadium Ground A in Ahmedabad.
Anmolpreet completed his century in 35 balls, which is the fastest century by any Indian cricketer in List A cricket. Former all-rounder Yusuf Pathan holds the record in this list, he had scored a century in 40 balls in the match against Maharashtra in the 2009-10 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In List A cricket, the fastest century has been scored by Jake Fraser McGurk in 29 balls and AB de Villiers in 31 balls.
On the basis of this stormy innings of Anmolpreet Singh, Punjab achieved the target of 165 runs by losing 1 wicket in 12.5 overs. Apart from him, Prabhasimran Singh played an unbeaten inning of 35 runs in 25 balls. Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat, Arunachal Pradesh team was all out for 164 runs in 48.4 overs.
