India pacer Renuka Sharma and Sophie Molineux set the foundation for Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) comfortable eight-wicket win against Gujarat Giants in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) on Tuesday.
Renuka bagged two crucial wickets of opponent captain Beth Mooney (8) and Phoebe Litchfield (5) to put Gujarat Giants on the backfoot in powerplay. Molineux also joined the Indian seamer and returned with the figures of 3-25 in her four overs spell. A spirited bowling effort from RCB restricted Gujarat Giants to 107/7 which Smriti Madhana and company chased with 45 balls to spare to take the top spot.
Commenting on Renuka's performance, Molineux lauded her bowling partner's swing skills and her discipline in the powerplay overs.
"Yeah, Renuka has been incredible both games and playing against her for India, she's just so reliable and it's great to be on the same team as her. She swings the ball beautifully at the front and I think she's really set the tone for us in both games.
