Ravichandran Ashwin has called it a day from his international career, but he will still play a prominent part for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In the mega auction for 2025 last month, CSK acquired the seasoned spinner for ₹9.75 crore, most certainly guaranteeing that the player will don the colours of his home side in the final chapter of his professional playing career.

As per calculations, Ashwin has bagged approximately ₹97.5 crore from his IPL contracts since 2008, playing for CSK, Rising Pune Super Giant, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and the Rajasthan Royals.
The number could be subject to change since he didn't play the 2017 season for RPSG due to an injury, but overall, the player has bagged a mammoth sum from his exploits in the cash-rich league, scalping 180 wickets in 212 games at an economy rate of 7.12 with the help of a solitary four-wicket haul.

Ashwin will be partnering with his long-time teammate Ravindra Jadeja for CSK from the coming campaign of the IPL onwards.
Ashwin's latest stint at RR saw him don a fairly greater batting responsibility for the team, often pulling off a role of the pinch hitter at the top of the line-up.
Across three seasons, he took 35 wickets, and played a key role in taking them to the IPL 2022 final that they lost to the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
