New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer and IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings veteran Suresh Raina reminded his fans of his hey days with a blistering knock in the ongoing Big Cricket League.
The league which is seeing the magic of the Indian veterans once again saw Raina fire like anything after Shikhar Dhawan blazing knock in another match.
In a contest between Southern Spartans and Mumbai Marines, Raina slammed a fiery 62 runs in just 30 balls and his innings included six boundaries and three huge maximums. The inaugural season of the Big Cricket League started on December 12 and has a total of 6 teams competing in the 20-over format tournament. In the 11th game of the league, batting first, Spartans' player Phil Mustard slammed a remarkable century to set his team in command. He remained unbeaten in 140 runs off 69 balls and smashed 16 fours and 8 sixes.
Raina adds to the wrath
While Mustard thrashed the Marines bowlers all across the field, Raina came to support him and created further destruction on the side. The former India player player an impressive unbeaten knock of 62 runs in just 30 balls to steer hi side to a massive total of 232 runs in the stipulated 20 overs with the loss of just one wicket. Raina's knock was well appreciated as he hooked on to his trademark style smashing the ball to all parts of the ground, keeping his elegance and aggression in balance.

In reply, Mumbai Marines tried their best to chase the score but ended up with 180/9 in 20 overs, losing the encounter by 52 runs. Skipper Jesal Karia top-scored for the side with 56 runs while Vineet Singh smashed 28 runs. For the Spartans, Milin Yadav picked three wickets while Abdul Rehman claimed two wickets. Raina, apart from a masterclass with the bat, also picked a wicket.
