Lucknow: Mumbai Indians (MI) star batsman Suryakumar Yadav has returned after injury. He made a comeback against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 but was out for a duck in two balls. After this, he announced his comeback and scored a half-century in 17 balls in the match played against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Wankhede Stadium on 11 April. When Surya bats in his rhythm, he plays some incredible shots and reminds him of former great South African batsman AB de Villiers.
Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has compared him with De Villiers after watching him bat against RCB. Let us tell you that after missing the first three matches, Yadav returned to the field fully fit but failed to make an impact in his first match. However, in the very next match, he made a comeback with a bang and the result of his inning was that MI achieved the target of 197 runs in just 15.3 overs. He said, “We have seen AB de Villiers and he was an incredible player. However, when I see this man (Suryakumar Yadav) bat, I feel that Surya is a better version of de Villiers.”
In this statement, Harbhajan has described the 33-year-old as better than the former great batsman. Let us tell you that De Villiers had made his mark in the cricket world by playing some amazing shots and the fans were also very interested in watching his batting. However, the former African players have currently said goodbye to cricket and are not seen playing any kind of competitive cricket.
