After six IPL games, Kohli with 319 runs is still the Orange Cap holder and it is very unlikely that he does not get picked.

India’s T20 World Cup 2024 Predicted Squad

Mumbai: Over the past three weeks, 25 matches have been played at the Indian Premier League and we more or less know what the T20 World Cup squad could look like. Some reports have also helped in figuring out the squad that could board the flight to the New York. We already know that Rohit Sharma would be leading the side, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had confirmed that about a month back. But, the big question was – will Virat Kohli find a spot.

After six IPL games, Kohli with 319 runs is still the Orange Cap holder and it is very unlikely that he does not get picked. And if he is in the squad, either Shubman Gill or Yashasvi Jaiswal will find it difficult to find a spot in the XI. With Rohit opening, it is going to be interesting who will open with him.

Suryakumar Yadav, who hit a blistering 52 off 19 balls against RCB would in all probability bat at No. 3 and he would be followed by Kohli at No. 5. Thanks to his return to form, Rishabh Pant looks to be the first-choice to donn the gloves. There could be a toss-up between Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan for the reserve wicketkeeper’s spot.

Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja could be the allrounders. One reckons only two gets to make the XI among the four.

The specialist spinners are going to be Kuldeep Yadav. Ravi Bishnoi stands and outside chance of making it to the squad as the specialist reserve spinner.

The pace battery is likely to feature Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Yadav, Arshdeep Singh.
