Bangladesh has had a clean sweep in the ODI series against West Indies. West Indies registered a 4-wicket win over Bangladesh in the third and last ODI. The hero of this victory of West Indies was Aamir Jangu, who made his debut and scored a brilliant century in the match. On the basis of this 27 year old debutant's century, West Indies also chased its third highest score in ODI. They chased the target of 322 runs and captured the ODI series 3-0.
In the third ODI, West Indies won the toss and put Bangladesh to bat first. With Bangladesh losing 2 wickets for just 9 runs, Caribbean captain Shay Hope's decision seemed to be proved correct. But then, after that there was a brilliant century partnership between Soumya Sarkar and Mehdi Hasan, both of whom added 136 runs to the score board for the third wicket. After this, in the middle order, Mahmudullah and Zakir Ali together made an unbeaten partnership of 150 runs in 117 balls for the sixth wicket. During this partnership, Mahmudullah also broke the record of 103 sixes hit by Tamim Iqbal for Bangladesh in ODIs. Mahmudullah now has 106 sixes in his name in ODIs.
Bangladesh scored a huge total of 321 runs after losing 5 wickets in 50 overs on the basis of two century partnerships. Now the West Indies team, which came to chase the target of 322 runs, also did not have a good start. His 3 wickets fell for just 31 runs. The score board had just crossed the 80 mark when the team suffered its fourth blow. Meaning the shadow of defeat was beginning to loom. Amidst the same shadow, Casey Carty, who was already at the crease, got excellent support from Aamir Jangu.
Aamir Jangu and Casey Carty together added 132 runs in 115 balls to West Indies' account for the 5th wicket. This partnership was broken when Casey Carty missed his century by 5 runs. He played an inning of 95 runs. Even after Carti's departure, Aamir Jangu's attitude did not change. He played as if a seasoned player was playing, not a debutant. The result was that he scored an unbeaten century.
27 year old wicketkeeper batsman Aamir Jangu scored unbeaten 104 runs on 83 balls, which included 6 fours and 4 sixes. Playing his first match, Aamir Jangu not only wrote the script of a century but also returned after helping the team cross the threshold of victory. West Indies won the third ODI against Bangladesh by 4 wickets in the 46th over. He scored 325 runs after losing 6 wickets in 45.5 overs. Aamir Jangu was chosen Player of the Match for his brilliant and unbeaten century.
