India need Jasprit Bumrah to win the ongoing five-Test series against Australia. He was a bit off-colour in in the second Test, and the visitors were beaten by 10 wickets at the Adelaide Oval. The remaining bowlers couldn’t contain Travis Head in the day-night game as the left-handed batter scored 140 runs off 141 balls. With no Mohammed Shami in the team, Bumrah is carrying the workload of the bowling unit.

The speedster was seen holding his groin in the Adelaide Test and bowled slowly in Australia’s second essay, leading to speculations that he was injured. The right-arm seamer also opted out of the practice session, and former Australian players started slamming Rohit Sharma for giving Bumrah one over in the second innings despite knowing he was not 100 percent fit.

However, the veteran buried all the stories as he bowled at full throttle to KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. He started with a couple of leg breaks before increasing his speed.

The curator in Brisbane said that the pitch in the third Test will have more pace and bounce. According to him, the tracks used before Christmas have more spice than the ones used in January.

“Time makes a lot of difference on how a pitch behaves at Gabba. Tracks later in the season lose steam due to wear and tear while the ones used in the early part of the season are fresh and have a bit more juice in them. We are preparing a traditional Gabba pitch with bounce and pace,” David Sandurski said, as quoted by the West Australian.

Meanwhile, there is also a chance of Rohit Sharma opening the batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal as he practiced with the new ball. He had demoted himself in the second Test to allow KL Rahul to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
