The Indian batters were seen engaging in a long practice session after their disappointing show in Adelaide. Notably, the entire squad arrived in Brisbane on Wednesday, December 11 and had their first nets session.
After the loss in the second Test, the focus has been on the Indian batters who failed to continue their good show from the second innings in Perth and could only score 180 and 175 in the two innings respectively.
Hence, the batters seemed determined to put their bad performances behind them and worked on their weaknesses. Star batter Virat Kohli showed great discipline in leaving the balls outside off stump and was decisive in his footwork. India skipper Rohit Sharma started by facing the spinners and then faced an intense spell from Navdeep Saini, Yash Dayal and left-arm throw-downs with a special focus on leaving deliveries outside the off stump.
KL Rahul, who's been promoted to open in the ongoing series, was also seen having a long chat with head coach Gautam Gambhir. Opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was also seen rolling his arm over as he bowled to Akash Deep. On the other hand, fast bowler Mohammed Siraj looked determined to work on his line and length and give good support to Bumrah in the upcoming Test.
India eager to bounce back in Brisbane
The players also engaged in catching drills as Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul among others, honed their skills. India will be eager to once again take a lead in the series in the upcoming Test, which could well decide which way the series heads. After a thumping 295-run victory in the first Test in Perth, the Rohit Sharma-led side was completely blown away in Adelaide against the pink ball as Australia hammered them by ten wickets.
Hence, it's extremely crucial for the visitors to get a much-needed win under their belt in Brisbane and put the hosts under pressure once again. They will take inspiration from their last triumph at the venue during the 2020-21 tour when they ended Australia's 32-year-long unbeaten streak at the Gabba to clinch the series by 2-1.
