Delhi: Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis hopes that with the debut of Dinesh Karthik in the SA20 league, more Indian players will become a part of this league. Karthik will play for Paarl Royals in 2025 and he will be the first Indian cricketer to play in this league. He will be seen playing in this tournament only after his retirement from Indian cricket.

Retired players welcomed into the league
Kallis said, “The arrival of good players from India will be great for the league and this could be the beginning of other Indian players joining SA20. However, as per the current policy of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Indian players are allowed to play in foreign leagues only after retiring from other cricket tournaments including IPL.
The excitement will increase due to the presence of Indian players in the league.
Kallis further said, “It would be good to have Indian players in the league, but BCCI needs to take care of its players, so a balance will have to be struck. He also said that the support of the major IPL franchises is a big advantage for SA20, which is helping in popularizing the league.
IPL always on top
Kallis made it clear that IPL will always be at the top because its league, level of players and audience participation are at the highest level. The aim of SA20 is to get closer to the IPL and create an exciting league for the spectators.
