Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar feels Virat Kohli can finish the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia with four hundreds if he scores a ton in the third match at the Gabba in Brisbane. He pointed out that Kohli has all the skills in the world to score a century in the upcoming contest.

India and Australia are leveled 1-1 heading into the Brisbane Test on Saturday, December 14. Kohli amassed an unbeaten 100 in the second innings of the series opener but accumulated just 18 runs across two innings in Adelaide.

Speaking on the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan,’ Gavaskar mentioned that Virat could join him and former England captain Alastair Cook on the list of overseas batters to score a hundred in five Test venues in Australia. Gavaskar added that Kohli might reach the three-digit mark in the final two Tests in Melbourne and Sydney.

“If he scores a century in third Test, it will be good for Team India. He can join an elite club if he scores a hundred in Brisbane. He will become the only third visiting batter to script this record,” Gavaskar said.

“He has scored tons in Melbourne and Sydney, the venues of the fourth and fifth Tests. This means he has a chance to end this tour with four hundreds,” he added.

Virat Kohli has recorded seven Test centuries in Australia, with three centuries in Adelaide, two in Perth, and once each in Melbourne and Sydney.
