Who does not know about the tales and stories of Yuvraj Singh? The journey from Chandigarh's Yuvi to becoming the Sixer King of Team India is not easy. This is a journey which started at the age of 13 years and 11 months. The national skating champion was on his way to becoming the sixer king of cricket. But, how did this shift happen? There were two reasons for this. One is Yuvraj's father Yograj Singh and his stubbornness. And second Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife. Actually, once Yograj Singh went to Sidhu with his son Yuvraj. But, when he saw Yuvi batting, he folded his hands and said that he cannot play cricket.
Sidhu's same no further fueled father Yograj Singh's stubbornness. This incident related to Yuvraj Singh was once mentioned in The Kapil Sharma Show. Yuvraj himself had said in the show that when he was young, his father had taken him to Navjot Singh Sidhu and told him to make him a player. After that, when Sherry Pa saw me batting, she told Papa that no one can become a cricketer.
Navjot Singh Sidhu further told in the show that the next day Yograj Singh called me and said that I have got him released from roller scatter. And, now he will become a cricketer. Will play only cricket. Sidhu said that I used to play for India at that time and during that time I used to keep visiting Yuvi's house. Once when I went to his house around 9 pm, I saw that the lights were on and Yuvraj Singh was getting bouncer after bouncer. Sometimes with a tennis ball and sometimes with a leather ball. Yuvraj was not even wearing a helmet.
Sidhu told that he asked Yograj whether he wants to shave his head? But, it was the hard work of Yograj Singh along with his son that gave a gem like Yuvraj Singh not only to Indian cricket but also to world cricket.
His father's insistence made Yuvraj Singh a cricket superstar but in reality he had no interest in this game since childhood. He liked either tennis or roller skating. He had also won a medal in the National Under 14 Roller Skating Championship. But, his father was not even happy about winning that medal, rather he threw away that medal of Yuvi. Because he wanted his son to become a cricketer. To fulfill his wish, he made his son work equally hard.
