India’s uncapped 16-year-old causes Chaos: Takes 7 wickets for 20 runs in 10 overs

The newly appointed captain of under-16 domestic team of Assam, Hritwik Dhar, bowled out a game-changing spell during the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2024 match against Manipur at the MPCA ground in Morena.

After the team decided to bat, Assam scored 205 runs in their first innings. Hritwik bowled a total of 10.2 overs including 4 maidens, and ended up picking up seven wickets with a splendid economy of 1.94.

As the team came to bat, Manipur failed to get a good start as Assam skipper Hritwik Dhar picket their opener Anush on the 2nd ball of his 1st over. He followed by clean bowling S Thoungamba. Dhar then dismissed Maverik Wakambam on a duck.

Soon after that, Hritwik picked up two more wickets as Ishorcahandra got dismissed for 7 runs, Swabhiman got bowled out for a decent score of 28 runs, and Lucky failed on a duck as well. Y Achouba was the last player who fell down by Hritwik as he also got bowled out for 7 runs.

Apart from Hritwik taking almost every wicket, two wickets got taken down by Nayan Ch Mahanayak, and Moksod Uddin got the one final wicket.
