The matter between India and Pakistan regarding ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is still heated. BCCI and Indian government have refused to send their team to Pakistan. Also, BCCI had offered to adopt hybrid model for the tournament. At first the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was reluctant but later Pakistan agreed to it. However, Pakistan had also kept the condition of hybrid model for future ICC events to be held in India. After this, a decision on the Champions Trophy was to be taken in the ICC meeting but the meeting was postponed. At present there are many questions regarding the Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has given only three options regarding Champions Trophy 2025. He has discussed this issue in detail on YouTube.

What if Team India does not play in the Champions Trophy?

Akash said that suppose Pakistan says that the entire tournament will be held in Pakistan, then it is obvious that Team India will not participate in it. Pakistan is getting Rs 593 crore for hosting rights. Akash told what effect India's not being a part of the Champions Trophy will have on the Champions Trophy. He said that the money invested by Star India and Disney in this tournament of $ 3.12 billion (TV and Digital Rights 2024-27) will be greatly reduced and the broadcaster will have to suffer huge losses. However, Chopra further said that it is impossible for the Champions Trophy to happen without India. Because no cricket board will agree to this and everyone will suffer loss.

Aakash's second model on Champions Trophy

Akash told that in the second model, suppose the Champions Trophy is held on hybrid model, then the hosting rights will be of Pakistan only, but a small budget will be added to it which was given separately by ICC to Pakistan. If India's matches are held in Dubai, then Pakistan will have to spend the separately given 4.5 US dollars (Rs 42 lakh). There will be no financial loss to anyone in this, neither the Pakistan Cricket Board nor the broadcasters. But according to Akash, Pakistan may suffer loss in tourism. If the Indian team had gone to Pakistan, then obviously Pakistan's tourism would have increased but if the tournament is held in hybrid model then Pakistan may have to suffer loss due to tourism.

What if the tournament will be held outside Pakistan?

After this, Akash revealed the third and last model. He told that what will happen if Champions Trophy is not held in Pakistan and Pakistan refuses to host this tournament? Pakistan also does not play in this and if it boycotts the tournament then it will not get Rs 600 crore for hosting. Even in this situation, Pakistan will have to bear the loss. Apart from this, Pakistan will have to face many financial problems.
