Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Maharaja Yadvinder Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday. Batting first, Hyderabad scored 182 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Punjab team could score only 180 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Nitish Kumar Reddy of Hyderabad played an inning of 64 runs in 37 balls. He scored his first half-century in IPL. Abdul Samad scored 25 runs. Arshdeep Singh took 4 wickets for Punjab. Harshal Patel took two wickets.
