Australian fast-bowler Mitchell Starc revealed his reply when Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal sledged him in the 1st Test in Perth. Jaiswal was charged in the 2nd innings at the Optus Stadium and sledged none other than fiery Starc.

There was a little bit of chatter and Jaiswal told Starc that he was bowling too slow. Jaiswal's sledge to Starc was being seen as a reply to the Australia speedster, who indirectly warned Harshit Rana about bowling a lot faster to him when he came out to bat in the second innings.

"I didn't actually hear him say I bowled too slow. I don't say too much to people these days. I may have been back in the day, but now I just sort of get on with it. Played that flick shot and I think I bowled pretty much the same ball, and he defended it. I said where the flick shot is, and he laughed at me, and we just left it at that," Starc told cricket.com.au.

Jaiswal vs Starc

Jaiswal went on to score a brilliant hundred. He scored his maiden Test century in Australia in the second innings of the Perth Test match on Sunday, 24 November. Jaiswal played a magnificent knock of 161 (297) in the second innings with the help of 13 fours and three sixes as he helped India win the match by 295 runs in 1st Test.

"Jaiswal will be highly successful for India"

Starc heaped praise on Jaiswal and called him one of the most fearless batters of the current generation. He also tipped him to enjoy a long and successful career for India in the red-ball format.

"He'll play a lot of cricket for India and be highly successful. Certainly, he played really, really well in that second innings. He adapted to conditions through that first Test. We got him cheaply in the first innings and he adapted to that and played a fantastic innings, so full credit to him. He is one of those new crop of fearless young cricketers around the world."
