South African batsman Ryan Rickleton's fortunes have brightened after joining Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Ryan Rickleton stepped on the field for the first time after the IPL auction and this player scored a brilliant century. Rickleton completed his century in 231 balls in the second Test being played against Sri Lanka at St. George's Park. This century is very special for the left-handed batsman because he has managed to reach this milestone for the first time in his Test career.
It was not so easy for Rickleton to reach his century. This player came to bat at number 3 at a time when South Africa had lost the wicket of Tony DeGeorge early, this player could not even open the account. Rickleton, who came at number three, batted brilliantly and scored a half-century. Rickleton also got lucky because when he was on 98 runs, the umpire gave him out LBW but he was saved by review. After this, Rickleton completed the first century of his career by hitting a brilliant on-drive.
Rickleton was in very poor form before this century. This player was failing in all three T20 matches against India. He could score only 34 runs in the entire series. He could not score a half-century in the last 9 innings. But in the second test against Sri Lanka, his bat flourished and he managed to score a brilliant century. Rickleton has been included by Mumbai Indians in their squad for IPL 2025. Mumbai has bought this player at the base price of Rs 1 crore.
