Rohit Sharma has started playing aggressively from the first ball of his innings, scoring runs rapidly across formats. On the other hand, Virat Kohli likes to convert starts into hundreds. In IPL 2024, Virat has slammed a hundred, while Rohit is amassing 40s in almost all the matches.
Even in international cricket, Rohit has given aggressive starts to the Indian team, which allows other battles to settle in and hit hundreds. However, former India player Mohammad Kaif took a dig at Rohit for not making his starts count in any tournament.
“Rohit Sharma only plays cameos for his teams while Virat Kohli likes to hit hundreds. This is the only difference between the two batters,” Mohammad Kaif said on Star Sports.
Kaif was trying to highlight Kohli’s consistency. Virat smashed a few tons even in the ICC World Cup 2023, while Rohit’s only three-digit mark came against Afghanistan.
Kohli is leading the run-scoring chart in IPL 2024 and holds the Orange Cap. He has hit a hundred and two fifties so far. Rohit is not among the top five run-getters in the cash-rich league 2024.
