A big news has come to light before the 25th match of IPL 2024 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Mumbai Indians have replaced an injured player with a player who has scored a century in all three formats of domestic cricket. Mumbai Indians have included 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Harvik Desai, who is playing for Saurashtra in domestic cricket, in their team for the rest of the season. Harvik has been included in place of Vishnu Vinod. Vishnu Vinod is out of the entire IPL 2024 due to injury.
IPL has issued a media advisory and given information about Harvik Desai joining Mumbai Indians. He wrote, ‘Due to the hand injury of wicketkeeper batsman Vishnu Vinod, TATA is out of the remaining matches of IPL 2024. Mumbai Indians have included Saurashtra wicketkeeper batsman Harvik Desai in the team in his place. 24-year-old Harwick has scored centuries in all three formats of cricket. He was part of the India U19 team that won the World Cup in 2018.

During this period he has also scored 5 centuries and 16 half centuries. His highest score is 116 runs. So, in List-A matches, he has scored 1341 runs in 40 matches at an average of more than 76. Which also includes 4th century and 9th century. His highest score in this format is 102 runs. Talking about T20 format, he has 691 runs in his name in 27 matches with the help of 1 century and 4 half-centuries. The top score of 104 runs in this format is also recorded in his name.
Harvik Desai was also a part of Saurashtra’s Ranji Trophy 2019-20 and 2022-23 teams.
Harvik Desai was a part of the U-19 World Cup-2018 team. He played an important role in India’s victory in this tournament.
