Arjun Tendulkar suffered a major setback after he was dropped from the Goa cricket team for the remaining matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Arjun, who joined Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, was not at his best in the domestic T20 tournament.
In a match against Mumbai, he conceded 48 runs from his four overs and scored 9 runs. In his three-over spell against the Services, he gave away 19 runs and didn’t bat, and Goa lost the match by 22 runs while chasing a target of 188 runs.
Arjun leaked 36 runs in his 3.4 overs as Andra Pradesh completed the target of 155 in 15.4 overs. He was not included in the 15-member squad for the matches against Kerala and Maharashtra. With four defeats in as many matches, Goa is sixth in the points table in Group E.
Arjun Tendulkar, the son of great Sachin Tendulkar, left Mumbai to join Goa before the 2022/23 domestic season. He scored a hundred in his first game for Goa against Rajasthan.
In 17 first-class matches, he has scored 532 runs and taken 37 wickets. Arjun has amassed 62 runs and dismissed 21 batters in 15 List A matches.
The all-rounder has played 24 T20 matches, scoring 119 runs and accumulating 27 wickets. Arjun has been with Mumbai Indians since 2021 and has played five games for the franchise.
