Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been named stand-in captain of the One Day International side as Bangladesh announce 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies, starting on Sunday (December 8).

All-rounder Mehidy, who is leading the Test side, will also step in as captain of the ODI side as regular skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto continues to recover from a groin injury. This will be the first time Mehidy will captain in the ODI format.

Left handed batting all-rounder Afif Hossain Dhrubo has been recalled to the ODI squad after a year, while fast bowler Nahid Rana has retained his spot after an impressive debut against Afghanistan earlier this year.

Rana joins Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan Sakib will form the pace attack, while Rishad Hossain and Nasum Ahmed are the two specialist spinners in the squad.

Litton Kumer Das, Jaker Ali and Parvez Hossain Emon are the three wicketkeeping options, while Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Soumya Sarkar and Md Mahmudullah form the rest of the squad.

Meanwhile, batter Zakir Hasan has been dropped following underwhelming performances against Afghanistan. Middle-order batter Towhid Hridoy, who is also dealing with groin issues, was unavaliable for selection as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board's medical team.

Bangladesh will play three ODIs against the West Indies after the second Test. The ODI series marks the beginning of the white-ball leg. The three ODIs will be followed by three T20Is. Here is a look at the squad and schedule:
