Pakistan has made a strong start to the series by winning the first T20 match against Zimbabwe. The Pakistani team, which entered this series without its new captain Mohammad Rizwan, defeated the host team by 57 runs in the match played in Bulawayo. This victory of Pakistan has come at a time when just a few days ago it had to face a shameful defeat in Australia, where the team was defeated 0-3 under the captaincy of Rizwan. This time vice-captain Aga Salman was commanding the team and he led Pakistan to a great victory.
Recently, the Pakistani team, which won 2-1 after falling behind in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, did not allow the same to happen in the T20 series. This time Pakistan started with victory in the very first match. The Pakistani team, which struggled in Australia despite having star players like Rizwan, Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, made a good start in the series against Zimbabwe without these stalwarts. In this, the explosive innings of the team's new batsman Tayyab Tahir in the lower order had a major contribution.
31 year old Tahir played a quick inning of 39 runs in just 25 balls, on the basis of which Pakistan, batting first, scored 165 runs losing 4 wickets. Apart from Tahir, Irfan Khan also scored 27 runs in 15 balls for Pakistan. Together, they made an unbeaten partnership of 65 runs in 34 balls to take the team to this score. In response, Zimbabwe had lost only 2 wickets for 18 runs till the third over and their defeat seemed certain. Spinner Abrar Ahmed made both of them his victims.
Despite this, the host team made a strong counter attack. Captain Sikandar Raza (39) along with T Marumani (33) increased the problems for Pakistan by making an explosive partnership of 59 runs in just 33 balls. Here there was a misunderstanding between Raza and Marumani regarding the run and opener Marumani was out. Just after this, the Pakistani team became completely dominant, in which the biggest role was played by the stormy fast bowler Haris Rauf. Rauf took 2 wickets for just 17 runs in his 3 overs. Apart from him, spinner Sufyan Mukeem also played an important role in settling the middle order and the entire Zimbabwe team collapsed for just 108 runs. Mukim and Abrar took 3 wickets each.
