Delhi: In the South Africa vs Sri Lanka test, the hosts defeated the Sri Lankan team by 233 runs. After setting a target of 192 in the first innings, Marco Jensen took 7 wickets to bowl out Sri Lanka for 42. South Africa won by performing brilliantly in the second innings.

Captain Bavuma scored a century

Captain Temba Bavuma helped the team score a big target by scoring 70 runs in the first innings and 113 runs in the second.

In the second innings, South Africa scored 366 runs with the help of 122 runs from Bavuma and Tristan Stubbs. In reply, the visiting team was reduced to 282.

ICC World Test Championship points table reshuffled

In the points table of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25, South Africa has secured second place by defeating Sri Lanka by 233 runs in the Durban Test.

With this victory, his points percentage (PCT) has increased from 54.17 to 59.25.

By winning the first Test of the two-match series, South Africa left Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia behind. India still remains at the top position. South Africa has one more test left in this series and two tests against Pakistan next month.
