The International Cricket Council has given Pakistan a day to accept a hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. If the Pakistan Cricket Board refuses to accept the decision or threatens to boycott the global tournament, the apex body will host the event in a different country.

According to Cricbuzz, the meeting between the member boards lasted for 20 minutes, and the next one is scheduled for the next 24 hours or in a few days.

However, Vikrant Gupta has come up with a new development, saying that the ICC will act tough against the sub-continent country if the demands are not met.

“CHAMPIONS TROPHY BIG BREAKING: ICC Board has given PCB a day to mull over Hybrid Formula, and in case they remain adamant (and worse case pullout or threaten CT boycott) the Champions Trophy will be held in a different country altogether PCB most likely to go ahead with Hybrid,” he wrote on X.

Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB Chairman, wants the entire tournament in Pakistan and is not in favour of a hybrid model. If Pakistan is forced to accept a hybrid model, it is likely to demand the same formula for the tournaments in India until 2031.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India informed the ICC about the Indian government’s decision not to allow the Men in Blue to play in Pakistan due to security reasons. The Indian Cricket Board officials urged the ICC to host India’s matches in Dubai.
