The arrival of Jasprit Bumrah in the Indian cricket scene came at a moment when fast bowling was starting to play a bigger role in the game. After becoming dependent on spin, captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shatri set out to create a fast bowling unit that was capable of challenging the world. The face of that revolution was Jasprit Bumrah. The opponent batters were unable to read Bumrah’s distinctive action in Tests, T20s, and ODIs.

Hailing from Gujarat, Jasprit Bumrah once considered moving to Canada for better opportunities. However, his career took a historic turn when he joined the Mumbai Indians team.

Yet the chances are slim, with so many talented youth harboring the same ambition in every neighborhood. You need a practical backup plan. I completed my education while weighing options. Initially, we considered emigrating as a family, but my mother was hesitant about the cultural differences abroad. Fortunately, things aligned favorably here. I feel tremendously grateful to represent India and the Mumbai Indians. With perseverance, one can achieve their goals, even if the path involves detours.” Said Bumrah on Jio Cinema.

Former batter Manoj Tiwary, recently stated that he would like to see Mayank Yadav, Mohammed Shami, and Bumrah in the T20 World Cup squad.

“If I were Ajit Agarkar, I would select Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Mayank Agarwal for the next match. Given Mayank’s form, smooth action, and controlled release, he seems ready to excel on a bigger stage. The IPL provides opportunities to dismiss world-class overseas bowlers, which can boost the confidence of Indian batsmen like Mayank.” opined Tiwary.
