The mega auction of IPL 2025 season has been completed and the squads of every franchise are ready. This auction took place at a time when the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy had just started. In such a situation, after the auction, everyone's eyes are focused on the performance of those players who were bought in the auction. One such player now saved the team from defeat with his performance and then his team also got victory in the Super Over. This player is Punjab's all-rounder Harpreet Brar, who saved the team from defeat by hitting boundaries in 4 consecutive balls in the last over.

The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match was played between Punjab and Mizoram in Rajkot. Mizoram batted first in this match and scored 176 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. For that, Agni Chopra scored 52 runs in just 34 balls. Whereas Mohit Jangra scored only 67 runs in 34 balls which included 6 fours and 4 sixes. The innings of these two took Mizoram to its highest score of this season. This did not seem like a big score for defending champion Punjab and they started aggressively but then their condition deteriorated.

Then came the last over in which Punjab needed 25 runs but Anmolpreet Singh was run out on the very first ball. From here Mizoram was moving towards a big upheaval. Only 1 run came on the next ball and thus Punjab needed 24 runs in the last 4 balls to win. This is where the magic of Harpreet Brar was seen. Brar hit a four on the third ball of the over and sent the fourth ball for a six. Still, the team's defeat was in sight but here the team got an extra run from a wide ball. Now in the last two balls, 13 runs were needed for victory and 12 runs for tie and Brar saved the team from defeat by hitting two more sixes and equalizing the score.

Now the match was to be decided by Super Over and here Punjab's power was visible. Ramandeep Singh, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL, scored 14 runs in 5 balls, with the help of which Punjab scored 15 runs. This proved impossible for Mizoram and the team could score only 7 runs in the super over. In this way, two all-rounders from Kolkata and Punjab together saved the team from upsets and kept the hope of winning the title alive by giving them a memorable victory.
