Many cricket experts were surprised when Shardul Thakur was not bought by any team in the IPL 2025 auction. It was being said that Shardul Thakur is an excellent all-rounder and he can be useful for any team, but in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match played on Friday, Shardul Thakur proved the decision of all the IPL teams right. In fact, Shardul Thakur was beaten so badly in the match against Kerala that an unwanted record was created. Shardul Thakur gave away 69 runs in 4 overs against Kerala and his team Mumbai lost the match by 43 runs.
Shardul Thakur broke all limits of bad bowling against Kerala. This right-arm fast bowler gave 69 runs in 4 overs and his bowling included a total of 4 fours and 6 sixes. Shardul Thakur hit 3 sixes and a four in the last over itself, as a result Kerala team managed to score 234 runs. Shardul was beaten the most by Rohit Kunnumal and Salman Nazir. Kunnumal hit 7 sixes in his innings of 87 runs. Whereas Salman Nazir hit 8 sixes in his unbeaten inning of 99 runs.
A forgettable day for Shardul Thakur. Conceding 69 runs in the 4 overs and then got out for 3(4).
Rahane fought, fought and fought with 68 off 35 but all he could do was easing the defeat margin down to 44.

Mumbai's batting unit was very strong. The team had batsmen like Prithvi Shaw, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane but despite this the team lost the match. Shaw gave a good start to the team but this player was out after scoring 23 runs in 13 balls. Angkrish scored only 16 runs in 15 balls. Shreyas Iyer played an inning of 32 runs. Rahane played an inning of 68 runs in 35 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 5 fours. But after his dismissal, the match went out of Mumbai's hands.
