The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been the talk of the town of late. Champions Trophy 2025, which was originally slated to take place in Pakistan, has been marred by massive controversy even though the start of the tournament is still far, far away from now.

ICC Champions Trophy has become the hot soup because the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) categorically mentioned that they won't be travelling to Pakistan. This has created a fuss between the two boards with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) being firm on their stance of hosting the tournament at home.

With both parties passing on different statements now and then for the last month, the International Cricket Council decided to act as a mediator. They tried to solve the problem and recently held the virtual, and a decision related to the tournament is likely to come out.

As per the reports in Indian Express, it is learned that during the virtual meeting of the ICC, a hybrid model was proposed to the Pakistan Cricket Board for the tournament. According to that, three games of the India National Cricket Team, along with the semifinal and the final, were played in a neutral country.

In the second plan, it is mentioned that if the India National Cricket Team doesn't qualify from the group stage, both the semi-final and final will take place in Pakistan, which is the original host of the ICC Champions Trophy.

The reports claimed that there will be voting as well related to the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy. If the model gets majority backing, then it will be up to the Pakistan Cricket Board to accept it or not.

It is also learned that the International Cricket Council is also expected to finalize UAE as a venue as it will decrease the travel time for teams to travel between matches from Pakistan. Also, even if the hybrid model is voted for, the ICC will give time to the PCB to get clearance from the Pakistan government.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to take place in February-March next year. After the meeting, the ICC is likely to announce the venues and the entire fixtures for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It remains to be seen where will the tournament be staged.
