The future of the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan is hanging in the balance. ICC has not yet announced the schedule of the tournament and the reason for this is Pakistan's hosting which has become a tough task for ICC. Pakistan wants Team India to come to play there, whereas BCCI has clearly refused this. BCCI has demanded to organize this tournament under hybrid model. Now PCB has given a new threat to BCCI. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that if the Indian team does not come to Pakistan, then his team will also not go to India.

Naqvi will accept the decision of ICC meeting

The ICC has called a virtual meeting of its Executive Board members on Friday to take the final decision on the Champions Trophy. Naqvi said that it is not possible for Pakistan to continue playing all the tournaments in India and Indian officials are not ready to send their team to play in Pakistan. Naqvi further said that he will not let this happen. Naqvi, however, adopted a soft tone when asked about the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy. Earlier he had said that PCB will not accept such a proposal. Naqvi said that I can only assure that whatever happens in the meeting, our people will accept it and we will bring good news and decisions.

Naqvi has hope from Jai Shah

Naqvi expressed hope that Jay Shah, who will take over as ICC Chairman on December 5, will take decisions in the interest of world cricket and all the member boards. He said, 'Jay Shah will take charge in December and I am sure that when he moves from BCCI to ICC, he will think about the decision of ICC and that is what he should do.' Naqvi said that Jai Shah should also think only about the interest of ICC.
