The franchise has focused a lot on new players. Due to which only 4 to 5 names appear old. Which has surprised everyone.

The Punjab Kings team, which is waiting for its first trophy in IPL, had retained only 2 players before the mega auction of IPL 2025. In which the names of match finisher Shanshak Singh and young wicketkeeper batsman Prabhsimran Singh are included. After which in this auction the franchise has bought Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore.

Because of which it is now being said that Punjab Kings can make Iyer their next captain. Apart from this, Kings have again included Arshdeep Singh using RTM for Rs 18 crore.

Talking about spin bowling, Preity Zinta has bid on Yuzvendra Chahal, Glenn Maxwell, Praveen Dubey and Harpreet Brar. Whereas in fast bowling, Punjab Kings have included the names of Yash Thakur, Azmatullah Omarzai Vijaykumar Vaishak, Kuldeep Sen and star fast bowler Lockie Ferguson.
