IPL 2025 News In Hindi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fielded a strong squad of 22 players in the IPL 2025 mega auction. They retained Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal and made Josh Hazlewood the most expensive player ahead of the event, along with the purchase of 19 more players. Faf du Plessis was their captain for the last three years, but they could not bring him back in the auction. There is a search for a new captain for this star-studded team in IPL 2025 and speculations about this are already intense. There could be three captaincy options for RCB for the next edition of the cash-rich league.

1. Virat Kohli

Looking at the team, the first and most important option seems to be Virat Kohli. His name was in the news even before the retention deadline and it is also being speculated that he has increased his retention price to Rs 21 crore as he was going to become the captain. However, nothing is confirmed now as an RCB official later denied all such reports. But with no solid options available in the team among the Indian players, Kohli is likely to get back the leadership responsibilities if the franchise insists on voluntarily stepping down after IPL 2021.

2. Phil Salt

RCB spent a huge sum of Rs 11.5 crore to secure the services of Phil Salt. He had a stellar IPL season with KKR earlier this year, scoring 435 runs in 12 innings for Kolkata Knight Riders at a strike rate of 182, which included four fifties. He should have got a huge amount in the auction. Interestingly, England is eyeing him as the next captain in the white-ball format and he has led the team in two T20 matches this year, winning and losing each. If Kohli declines the captaincy offer, Salt is very likely to be made the RCB captain next season.

3. Liam Livingstone

Liam Livingstone will play for RCB for the first time next year. He was bought by the franchise for Rs 8.75 crore and can also play the role of a finisher and all-rounder. Livingstone played for Punjab Kings in the last three IPL editions and scored 827 runs in 30 innings, with his strike rate being over 140 in all three years. Livingstone has led England in three ODIs so far this year, winning one and losing two. He is the third and final captaincy option for RCB next season.
