The power of Team India was visible in Perth and the Indian tricolor waved proudly. Under the captaincy of Bumrah, the Indian team wrote a historic story of victory. The captain, while leading the team from the front foot, did such a wonderful job that he was also chosen as the hero of the victory. But, amidst all these achievements, why did Bumrah say that Virat Kohli does not need us? Bumrah said this when he came to the press conference after winning the Perth Test and he was asked a question about Virat Kohli.
Jasprit Bumrah said that Virat Kohli does not need us. But in this he further said that we need them. Meaning, the team needs him more than Virat Kohli. This statement of Bumrah tells the whole story in itself. And, why this is so was seen in the Perth Test, where Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century in the second innings while remaining unbeaten.
Virat Kohli scored a century in 143 balls in the second innings of Perth Test, with which he set another example of how big a player he is on the big stage. Till the Perth Test, Virat Kohli was struggling to score an international century. He had played 28 innings in this struggle, but it was amazing that when the big opportunity came, Kohli stood there. And, this cannot happen without being mentally strong. Jasprit Bumrah is pointing towards this ability of Virat through his statement.
