IPL Mega Auction: Veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami has found a new team in IPL 2025. This player will now play for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Shami for Rs 10 crore. Bidding started between KKR and CSK to buy Shami. Lucknow Supergiants entered at a price of Rs 8.50 crore and finally Sunrisers Hyderabad made a bid of Rs 10 crore. Shami was a part of Gujarat Titans and did not even take RTM. In this way Shami now belongs to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Team India's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami was with Gujarat Titans for the last 3 consecutive seasons and helped the team in winning the title. Then in the 2023 season, he won the Purple Cap by taking 28 wickets and played an important role in taking Gujarat to the final for the second consecutive time. Gujarat had bought Shami for Rs 6.25 crore in the 2022 mega auction but released him this time. However, due to the injury he suffered in the World Cup last year, he could not play in the 2024 season.

Due to this injury, Shami remained out of the field for a year and recently made a comeback in the Ranji Trophy. This time the Indian star registered for the mega auction and had kept his base price at Rs 2 crore. Talking about Shami's IPL career, he also played a few seasons for Delhi and Punjab. He has taken 127 wickets in 110 matches of IPL.
