The Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been bought by Chennai Super Kings for a price of INR 9.75 Crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Picking 15 wickets in 9 matches with an average of 51.88 and an economy of 7.12 in 2024 season, Ashwin has been struggling with he form and fitness in the first half of the season.

The all-rounder has been importatnt to Chennai Super Kings due to his history with the franchise, his role and his potential to contribute to the team’s success. Ashwin first become well known with CSK in 2009 and played for the team until 2015.

From 2010 season, he began to shine as sensational performance helped CSK win the IPL trophy twice in 2010 and 2011.

He has spent six seasons with CSK before a ban for two years who was drafted to Rising Pune Super Giants in 2016.

Considered as best all-rounder in Indian cricket has over 750 international wicket and six test centuries.
