Virat Kohli is out of form but he is still the most discussed player in the world. He is currently on a tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. India and Australia are engaged in the first Test of the five-match series in Perth.
The 36-year-old amassed just 5 runs in the first innings, extending his streak of low scores in the longest format of the game.
He is facing massive flak, with fans, media, and rival players questioning his performances. According to his teammate Cheteshwar Pujara, the veteran has his style of responding to all the criticism that comes his way.
“He has scored a lot of runs in Australia and is one of the most successful batters. For me, Kohli’s hundred in the Perth Test in 2018 is among his top five innings in red-ball cricket.
“He likes to responds to criticism from the fans, media and rival players with his bat,” Cheteshwar Pujara said on Star Sports.
Virat scored 93 runs in six innings of the previous series against New Zealand. The right-handed batter has hit just three Test hundreds in five years. Kohli has hit six tons and scored over 1500 runs Down Under.
