Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced to call an emergency meeting on 26 November. The main objective of this meeting is to discuss the organization of 2025 Champions Trophy. According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, the only agenda of the meeting is to consider the possibility of adopting a hybrid model for the tournament, in which matches can be held in Pakistan and any other country.

Now less than 100 days are left for the tournament to start. The host Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fixed the dates for the tournament from 19 February to 9 March, but the ICC has not yet released the schedule. The biggest obstacle in organizing the event is India's refusal to tour Pakistan.

BCCI has informed ICC that the Indian government has not given permission to Team India to go to Pakistan. In 2021, Pakistan was assigned to host this ODI tournament, which is planned to be held in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.

This week, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also heads the Pakistan government's interior ministry, told the media that he hoped the Champions Trophy would be held in Pakistan. He also said that he is ready to resolve this impasse by talking to BCCI.

India withdrew from the tournament

Recently India withdrew its name from the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup because the Indian team was not allowed to go to Pakistan. This matter can further increase the tension regarding the organization of Champions Trophy.
