Delhi: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah created history on Saturday by taking five wicket haul for the seventh time in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia). With this he also equaled the record of great all-rounder Kapil Dev. Kapil and Bumrah have now become the Indian bowlers who have taken the most five-wicket hauls among army nations.

Bumrah achieved this feat in the first test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played in Perth. He not only touched Kapil's record, but also made the record of achieving this feat the fastest, where Bumrah achieved this feat in 51 innings, while Kapil took 62 innings.

Bumrah's performance in Army countries has been very impressive. In 27 Tests, he has taken 118 wickets at an average of 22.55, in which his best performance was 6/33. He has tied with Kapil (7), while BS Chandrashekhar, Zaheer Khan (6 times) and Bishan Singh Bedi, Anil Kumble (5 times) are behind him.

Bumrah also became the fifth Indian captain to take a five-wicket haul. Before him, Vinoo Mankad, Bishan Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble had achieved this feat. Kumble last achieved this feat in 2007 in Melbourne.

Bumrah's excellent record makes him a successful bowler in every situation. His performances at difficult venues like Johannesburg, Melbourne, Nottingham, Cape Town and Perth have made Indian cricket proud.
